All our nappy patterns are exclusive to us and  items can not be made and/or sold by any other seller anywhere in the world, and we will take legal action against anyone found to be doing so.

KK (KeesterKover)® Windpro AIO (pictured right in grasshopper green)Kwik Dry  and Daytime AIO and Fitteds  are  currently available only through Possum Pouches   KeesterKover® windpro  is one of the best night nappies you will find. It is also very quick drying and comes with either our special registered design booster or  a trifold snap in booster.    We call these an AIO because the nappy can be used without any inserts and work really well;but it comes with additional snap in booster to make it a super night nappy; unlike an AI2 which does not have enough absorbent soaker fabric concealed in the body of the nappy and will always need an added booster .Wool KeesterKover® will be back in stock soon  KK Pocket version also available

Why do Keester Kovers®  AIOs work so well? An AIO needs to do two things; 1 -contain a lot of liquid  and 2 - not leak. The absorbency is dealt with by having sufficient quantity of cotton, hemp, bamboo or similar fabrics   within the nappy,  the leakage is taken care of by the outer fabric of the AIO. The outer needs to be a quality fabric ( like Malden Mills windpro that will not leak under pressure and the inner needs to be a stay dry fabric like suedecloth or microfleece; if the inner is an absorbent fabric then the outer waterproof fabric will need to roll in to prevent other clothing or bedding coming in contact with the soaked absorbent fabric.  If the outer is a poor quality fleece the liquid will leak through so the nappy will need a cover, and therefore is not classed as an AIO.The nappy also needs to have sufficient room to contain the amount of hemp or bamboo or similar boosting fabrics, so the more slender the nappy the less  the amount of boosting it will hold. If you have insufficient boosting there is nowhere for the liquid to go so any nappy would then leak.  We do not recommend  or use microfibre  in our nappies or boosters. Keester Kovers® have top quality MM fleece outers and stay dry inners, there is good absorbency in the nappy body and there is plenty of room for additional boosting . However there is of course no nappy on the market that will last indefinitely  or with copious amounts of liquid, so for baby's comfort all cloth nappies do need to be changed as soon as possible after they become wet.

We do offer embroidered nappies  occasionally; but remember the  machine embroidered filled designs, i.e. those where the whole design is filled in with coloured thread stitches, use thousands of stitches which will weaken the fabric and may also lead to leaking, so the life of an embroidered nappy will be shorter than a plain one. Nappies will get washed many many times during their life and some embroidery threads do not react well to constant laundering, and also can be damaged by urine. Make sure the person doing the embroidery can tell you the type of thread used and that it is suitable for the type of garment on which it is stitched.

KK Windpro nappies are the ideal Night nappy. Because the fabrics are the highest quality MM windpro and fleece they need only a few layers of bamboo in a booster, unless your child is an extremely heavy wetter in which case an extra piece  of absorbent fabric can be folded inside the trifold snap-in booster. Many nappies being marketed as night nappies are really day nappies that need to be boosted to the hilt to work as a night nappy. KKs are the opposite-  an excellent  night nappy which can be used with lighter boosting to make a daytime nappy if desired.

Ceejay nappies® have a concealed layer with sewn in  concealed soaker,  plus an external attached or lay-in soaker which can be folded to suit. Wings have fold back hook and loop closures to help prevent lint gathering in wash. Some  shrinkage may occur for the first few washes, especially with hemp. All nappies are turned and topstitched.      Ceejay Nappies® can be worn with the extension flap out, as worn by Ceejay on the home page or folded inside as pictured here in a Christmas fabric

Our nappy has an extended fold-over front to adjust the rise, and it was created by a proud dad who used the nappies exclusively on all his children. Those children have since used them for their own babies, so fitted cloth nappies have been around a lot longer than many people realise. It has had a few name changes and is now called Possum Pouches Ceejay Nappies®  It is protected by copyright. The pattern is not for sale and it is forbidden to copy the nappy or pattern or alter it for any purpose. This includes making a pattern taken from the pictures of the nappies. Unless otherwise indicated  the nappy has regular sized doubler, which may be folded to give added layers, or a rectangular hemp doubler which folds into 3 layers of hemp, but opens flat for faster drying.Hemp becomes more absorbent after frequent washing. Some items have a fleece layer to keep baby's bottom drier, and make it easier to remove solid matter before dry pailing. In any nappy a rectangle of fleece can be used as a liner ; just cut a rectangle of regular fleece, no need to finish the edges. One size fits most.At night extra inserts can be added, by folding inside the hemp booster, or wrapping round the main booster, and we recommend the use of a cover for night time; we offer wool and waterproof covers. The nappies  are not AIO's.

The front flap of the nappy can be tucked in under wings on a small baby, and left folded in front for a larger child, or folded to the inside of the nappy. This pattern does not use snap fasteners, as  the one-size nature of it would mean too many snaps , so aplix and touchtape are used on the nappies, with fold over tabs to help prevent lint gathering in the wash, and snaps are used on some covers. We also use snap in boosters on some of our products as well as a variety of other boosters of our own design. We also take the time to round off the corners of all hook and loop and aplix.

Nappies have been well tested with excellent results.

We are proud to say all nappies are made by ourselves, WAHMS who are  members of one family, on domestic machines in our own pet free and smoke free homes; we do not pay or employ other people to make, cut or assemble  any part of our nappies and covers. Note we do not list our nappies on ebay, but occasionally may list a cover or other product. We use ALL NEW MATERIALS in all our products. We do not use microfibre in any of our products as we do not like the fabric. Currently we have one person only making nappies so they are listed randomly when we have time to  make them, in between knitting our very popular soakers and longies. We have 2 knitters.

We will endeavour to add new items often, and to attend to your orders as quickly as possible.  We can be contacted by email and items in stock will be sent very promptly and genuine emails will be answered within 48 hours barring exceptional circumstances. We make every effort to answer enquiries as soon as possible, but occasionally family commitments take us in other directions; this is the reason we choose to sell only online, so that we can have quality time with our families, away from computers and telephones. If we know we are going to be unavailable for more than 48 hours we will place a notice on the website.  Knits can be ordered at any time but there may be a waiting list on some items More Knitting Info HERE

CARE OF CLOTH NAPPIES

Gone are the days of soaking nappies in buckets.  If the nappy is soiled flush the solid waste down toilet; if you have a fleece or suedecloth liner next to baby’s bottom you will find solid matter rolls off easily. Some people prefer to rinse the nappy before placing  in a bucket or container with a lid, or you can just put it straight in. A quick rinse helps protect elastic and some fabric from the effects of reactions with urine.

Approx every 2nd day wash with half ( or less) the amount of gentle detergent you would use for a normal wash. Some people like to wash once in cold water, then wash in warm water using detergent, this is a matter of personal choice and finding out what works best for you.The use of nappy soaker products can shorten the life of your nappies, as will rubbing or incorrect washing procedures. With correct care they will last  a long time. However the longer a nappy is left wet the shorter its life will be.Washing as soon as possible after use helps prevent weakening of the fibres from urine Hemp will need several washes before it becomes fully absorbent, and will shrink with washing. In fact most nappies become more absorbent after several washes.

Sunlight is the best way to dry nappies and leave them free of marks, but they can be tumble-dried.

All our products are made and stored in  pet free and smoke free homes.

We would like to stress that although we use a professional snap press and check snaps when they are applied, snaps can sometimes come off a nappy. We would ask that you "unsnap" all products, rather than ripping the snaps open. This should minimise the risk but if you do have a problem please contact us and we will arrange repair.

**Because we are in the grip of a drought in Australia, many people argue that cloth wastes valuable resources. In fact disposables use far more water and energy than cloth. If you doubt this, I can only suggest you read the article here http://www.rwh.org.au/wellwomens/whic.cfm?doc_id=7691 to get the facts.**

WOOL SOAKERS  can be found here. Wool covers do not need to be washed after every use, but are best air dried and washed only when soiled or when re-lanolising is necessary, every month or so. Please do NOT machine wash hand knitted garments. For more info on our hand knitted soakers and longies (including Ceejakes, soakers that convert to longies)check here.

CLOTH PADS out of stock

COST COMPARISON:  Disposables for the first 2 and a half years would cost more than $2,500; add to that the cost of disposable wipes and it almost doubles. 3 dozen fitted cloth nappes, half a dozen covers would cost well under $1000 .
