Organisations are crying out for blankets,beanies, gloves and fingerless gloves for the homeless, warm clothing for all ages, chemo caps/hats, clothing for small and premmie babies.
If you can only spare a little amount of time you can still help.
Please give some thought to the following.
Knit or crochet a few squares which I can then sew into blankets
Join in any of the projects as listed from time to time
Make any warm clothing articles
I am happy to complete these and pass them on to one of the organisations/groups who regularly give boxes of suitable items to those who have asked for supplies.
If you are already familiar with groups who distribute such items in your area you can pass your already completed items directly to them, but if you are only able to make a few squares then please feel free to contact me , so I can combine them all into finished blankets etc and pass them on, on behalf of each and everyone of you.
I do not take any glory for your work, this is a group effort and I would love to encourage many many more to become involved. This can be just a few squares every now and then, every single square is of help. My aim is to encourage others who can only spare small amounts of time, to also become a part of our efforts
I do not however provide materials to the knitters. Most of us have oddments lying around which are quite suitable and sometimes local stores will donate yarn or give you a bargain price on odd balls.
All items once completed are given to groups in Australia who distribute them to the people who need them.They are not sold anywhere.This site is totally for charity.
